A hip hop album built like a tasting menu, and an identity built to match.
Blvck Svm is a Chicago-based hip hop artist whose music refuses to stay in one lane, and his visual identity needed to move the same way. Office of Joe Diver has worked with him on an ongoing basis, building his identity, campaign rollouts, and event branding across multiple projects, most notably Michelinman and Mangalica Mink, each treated as its own world while staying recognisably his.

A Tasting Menu As a Hip Hop Album
Blvck Svm's michelinman dropped in November as a 13-track project built almost entirely around the language of fine dining, using it as metaphor, narrative structure, and texture throughout. Over 15 months, he and his small production team travelled across the US and Canada, filming music videos in the back-of-house at fine-dining restaurants including Cellar Door Provisions, Brasero, and Asador Bastian in Chicago, Vern's in Charleston, Nisei in San Francisco, and The Butchery by RGE RD in Edmonton. - Source: WTTW. The album's launch followed the same idea through: one restaurant visit, one performance held at a different restaurant entirely. Office of Joe Diver built the identity around the full rollout, from menus to window signage to the social campaign.

The depth of thought behind every track on michelinman needed a design system that matched it. Every detail, down to the smallest, was considered with the same intent as the record itself.

Album
Mangalica Mink
A full visual system was designed and rolled out for Mangalica Mink, spanning the album cover, vinyl packaging, and everything built around the release.

An iconic album
The project was met with major praise and put Blvck Svm firmly on the map, with Hyogo standing out as a breakout track, going on to reach 27.5 million plays on Spotify alone.

An original Mangalica illustration, created by the Blvck Svm team, anchored the album cover, supported by a typography system built to sit alongside it.
